¡Hola Amigos! My name is Elier Bermudez. From a very young age I knew that I had a passion for food, which led me to join the service industry a little over 25 years ago. |
I worked in numerous restaurants throughout that time and developed a taste for the traditional Mexican style salsa. I started to notice some inconsistencies that I wanted to improve - some were too watery, some were too chunky, too spicy, not spicy enough, too sweet, too salty, and so forth. One day I decided to put together my own interpretation of the perfect style of salsa. This salsa would have the perfect balance of the right ingredients. The perfect amount of vegetables, condiments, heat and texture that I always envisioned. My salsa turned out amazing and I wanted everyone I knew to be able to take it with them and enjoy it as much as I did.
I started serving my delicious salsa in restaurants, family gatherings, parties, cookouts, etc. People kept asking me to bottle the salsa and sell it everywhere I could. I decided to take action on this idea and called my business partner Edwin and told him that I wanted to make my salsa a staple in every home’s kitchen. His exact words were “Absolutely, let’s do it.”
Before I knew it, I was on my way to a 4-day acidified food processing course to get certified by the NCSU and the journey would begin.
We then recruited our partner Marcos who has been a close friend for years so he could help us in the graphic design field.
As a team we come from different Hispanic cultures and have all worked in the food industry over the past two decades. We have tasted many different recipes of the traditional Mexican style salsa, and our collective experience has allowed us to put together the perfect blend of all-natural ingredients, spiciness, and texture to create our very special Don Camaleón Salsa.
